To check the switches you have to have a multi-meter to check for continutie threw the switch. most safty switches that i work with deal with the kill side of the coil in mowers. If you have a test light check to make shure you have power at the small wire on the solnoid with the key turned on to the start postion. No power trace wire back till you have power than your fix will be in that area. Has power check all three for power. all three have power than i would have the starter checked by a technition. Check the ground wire too make sure that is good and good clean free of paint and corosion connection. what brand of lawnmower? and model maybe able to help with more..

There is a safety switch under the seat, on the clutch/brake pedal and the mower deck engagement lever. You may have to unplug the wires from the switch and put a small piece of wire in the plug as a jumper. Do this one at a time and you should be able to find the bad one. When you look at them it may be obvious that one is broken or disconnected.

Make sure u have12volts in battary first then u can ck to see if one of yr switches r bad by using a light meter or a volt meter at the LITTLE electrical wire at the selonoid,(not the big red ones)with the parking brake locked and set (this bypasses seat switch) pto off unit in neutral turn key and light should come on or 12vdc on volt meter. If there is no light/volt its a bad switch,HINT the color of the little wire u tested at selonoid is the wire color u test at all switches. test key switch first the same as above.then use a paper clip for saftey switches by jumping the same color wire (as the little wire at selonoid), do that until u find its bad switch and replace it. p.s if the light/volt meter does light up or give u a reading in first test all swiches r good and u have a bad starter. most units have key switch three to four saftey switches.

There is a safety switch underneath the seat and make sure you have the clutch pushed all the way in, that it is not in gear and have one foot on the brake.

Have you looked at the starter mechanism? You may have bad contacts with your wiring. That will certainly cause "nothing" to happen when you turn the switch...
good luck
