I've read Murder on the Orient Express and And Then There Were None. Both were good novels.

You've already mentioned my favorite: Agatha Christie. Both the books you mentioned are great, but my favorite is her amateur sleuth, Miss Marple. You could read The Body in the Library or Sleeping Murder or The Moving Finger.

How about The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle? All of his Sherlock Holmes stories are classic detective stories.

Dorothy L. Sayers wrote the Lord Peter Wimsey detective novels (Gaudy Night; Murder Must Advertise; Whose Body? and others). They're excellent.

Rex Stout wrote a long series of detective novels with Nero Wolfe as the detective; books like The Rubber Band. They are really enjoyable stories.

Erle Stanley Gardner's Perry Mason stories and The Thin Man by Dashiell Hammett are classics, too.

You may enjoy G.K. Chesterton's amateur sleuth Father Brown: The Wisdom of Father Brown or The Complete Father Brown.

Ellis Peters wrote a good series of detective stories set in Medieval times with a sleuth called Brother Cadfael (A Morbid Taste for Bones; The Rose Rent; Brother Cadfael's Penance and others).

"Devil in a Blue Dress" is my favorite, also check out the movie with Denzel Washington and Don Cheadle as the infamous 'Mouse'. Great fun.
