Do one on how to seperate object.
Put lead shavings sand and salt in a cup. Take a magnet to pull out lead shavings. Then put water in to seperate the sand. Then warm the salt with the water you werent able to get out. This should leave you with all the water evaporated and the salt being hard on the bottom of the pan.

When I was in grade school I grew 4 bean plants under 4 different colored cellophane (sparkly, clear (as your control), pink, and purple) to compare how the plants growth is affected by the different colors. I won second place!
