Ok, I just bought this car. It has 118,000 miles. I've been driving it everyday since I bought it, but this weekend I left town and didn't use it for about 72 hours. Then when I tried to start it I just heard the click of the starter, but it wouldn't start the engine. I used my jumper box to start it, and had no problems the rest of the day. However, this morning I got in it and it did the same thing.

Does this just sound like the battery is going out on me? I don't know how old it is or if its ever been changed.
Could it be the relay?

sounds like a battery, or possibly an alternator.

either the battery isnt taking juice (its the bad part) or the alternator wont charge it (the alternator is the culprit.

i suggest taking it to autozone or something... they do free battery and alternator testing.

also make sure you check all your wire connections to make sure its getting contact, look for acid around the battery terminals and such.

make sure you arent leaving any lights or anything that uses energy on in the car (things plugged into the cigarett lighter can take power too) while the car isnt running or is parked over night.

if you cant find anyting like this wrong then get the battery and alternator checked... that has to be the problem.

Since you don't know the age of the battery! Is it Dirty and Grease? look swollen on the sides? Any Doubt change it. Are the Battery Cables Good? Not corroded or Cracked?

Have Alternator and Electrical system checked for a drain on the battery, something drained it in those 72 hours?

Sounds like the battery.

If you have a volt meter, check the voltage (should be around 12 volts) with the car not running.

If its not 12 volts, then charge the battery, if it is, then try to start the car.

If the voltage drops below 9 volts, replace the battery.

Before I done a bunch of testin' I would remove the battery terminals, get a battery brush at auto store, clean the terminals and posts till shiny and give it a try.
