He'd still be my President and if they sent John Kerry and Al Gore up against him I'd vote for him as a Democrat.

That's an easy question to answer, since there was a Democratic President who did many of the same things - though in less than a single term. Alarmism over weapons that didn't exist, invasion of a foreign country, tax cuts, undeclared war, stolen election, expanded presidential powers, etc. Most of the people who hate Bush feel very differently about that President - in fact, they idolized him.
Party affiliation has a lot to do with it. Personal charisma also plays a substantial role - it doesn't just sway the masses, the media is responsive to it, as well.

Bush belongs to the Neo conservative party not the republican party. Does that change anyones view? The point is not what party he defines himself as being part of its the actions he takes.

A democrat would outrage me if he/she was doing the same thing. That's exactly why I don't like Hillary. She's a female democrat version of bush.
I honestly look at a politician without seeing his/her party. The neocons happen to have out numbered the democrats in the mutant department lately, but the democrats have plenty of imbeciles too. Apparently "Stupid" is an equal opportunity characteristic in both partys! ;o)

I think you can look at the immigration bill debacle as an example. Bush alienated his base by agreeing to it, and many of them turned on him quicker than Kennedy going through a bottle of Scotch.

I will give you the same answer that I gave a question that was skewed to the left (look at my answers if you do not believe me) "I am sick and tired of these Left vs. Right, Blue State vs. Red State, and Republican vs. Democrat “questions” that read more like childish commentary than an honest question. Besides, not everyone falls into these categories. If you want to start a flame-war join a listserv."

Nope. Im a fair guy. I dont care if you have a D or an R beside your name. Its what you believe in and what you do that counts. Bill Clinton helped our economy. That is a plus for him. However, the guy vetoed the partial birth abortion ban...twice. That is a negative. Bush aint my favorite president either, but I dont bash him simply because of his party.

I have read some far-fetched questions on here but this is a doozy. A poor leader is a poor leader, party has nothing to do with that fact.
