I have just watched the film Resident Evil the first 1 as it is a pretty good film lol

i was wondering could such a virus actualy exist or could the dead come back to life , in the movie the virus called the T-Virus ...... reactivates dead cells but only gives the person limited ability such as minor motor functions maybe little memory but only the basic instinct which is to feed , 1 bite or scratch to a living person they become infected

so could this happen?

I doubt it. When a person dies, their heart shuts down, preventing O2 and glucose from getting from the lungs and liver to the cells in the body. Once that happens, metabolism shuts down fairly quickly, and the cells run out of ATP very quickly thereafter (cells don't contain large stores of ATP, but rather use the energy from stored glucose to convert ADP to ATP as needed).

Since viruses reproduce by hijacking the host's cellular functions, and those functions require ATP, a virus would be incapable of reproducing in a dead cell. Also, without circulation, the virus would have no way of getting into the tissues of the body.

It is possible that a virus could be transmitted from an infected individual to a new host by a bite, and that a virus could cause neurological problems. Rabies comes to mind. Rabies is eventually fatal, but doesn't involve zombies.

It was a fun movie though :)

I doubt it at least for now. There are some pretty deadly human made viral and chemical wepons but nothing that advanced. I mean cmon they cant even cure a cold yet theres no way they are bringing the dead back to life. But who knows maybe in a couple hundredyears.
