Whats wrong with my dad?

Question

I keep telling him I want to burn my ouija board but hes saying all the stuff you guys say is bull. He said if I talk about it again to people then hell cut me off my computer and hes getting all mad. Why wont anyone beleive me? I dont want to be screwed up by spirits for the rest of my life. Ive already have weird things happen to me. He said you guys are saying this to scare me. Hell only let me burn it this weekend. He doesn't understand. Thank you.

Your Dad is skeptical of the spirit world. A lot of people are.
The Ouija board is a conduit for spirit communication. It isn't a bridge for spirits to access people.
Don't burn your board--it presents no danger to you or those around you.

Nobody intentionally tries to scare people....but FROM EXPERIENCE............I have had some seriously weird things happen while using my Mothers as a kid. I refuse to own one or allow one to be brought into the house. My kids friend tried to bring one to our house and I made the kid leave it out on the porch to take home with her. As a parent, I know I don't know everything, but I try to keep an open mind. If your Pop is being difficult, keep your mouth shut and just put it away.... he will never know the difference. If you have an attic or garage, put the board there under some stuff and forget about it. Feel free to e-mail me and I can tell you what happened and why I feel the way I do about the boards.

I have seen many results from Ouija board users one is to become obsessed and another is to be possessed!

First, I can totally agree with Rob on this one, but unlike Rob's answer, I do not seek to instill fear (intentionally or not), but understanding.
Age doesn't really mean much here, so don't worry about it. I think of it like this: is a hammer dangerous? By itself, no. In the hands of someone with ill intent, quite possibly. Yet in the end, a hammer is nothing more than a tool. And by that, I mean that it can be used productively (good) or distructively. Your Ouija board is nothing more than a tool (and yet just a game). In the hands of someone (living and in this realm) with good intentions, it can be used for good. And likewise in the hands of someone with ill intent, it can be used for bad.

As far as burning it goes. There is really no need, unless it will put your heart to rest. Then burn away! There is nothing inherently evil within the board itself that can harm you, so I wouldn't worry about it. I do want to ask, why would you want to burn the board?

As far as what is 'wrong' with your dad? Not really anything, unless not understanding fully your view on the matter is "wrong". Don't worry about what people say online, okay? There's a lot of people out there who will say anything that they find "funny" at the moment they think it, just for the sake of doing so. Sometimes what is said is simply intended to scare you. You're not going to be "screwed up by spirits" for the rest of your life.

Remember this, if anything at all of what I say here: You are the keeper of your own mind. There is no spirit out there that can get in without you letting it in. Sure, they have ways of trying to get you to let them in, but just remember that and be strong. You'll be fine.

I hope I've been able to help you out. I don't think there's anything "wrong" with your dad, he just doesn't understand your views on it the way that you do.

I understand the board might contain a negative energy that you are feeling and is making you uneasy. Just get it out of your house and you will be fine. When its garbage night throw it out and no one is the wiser. It is odd your Dad is making a big deal on it. Which makes me wonder did you alert something when using it? You said weird stuff has happened when you used it. Is werid stuff still happening to you? If not then dont worry you wont be tormented by the spirit life.Throw it out do not burn burning it is bad. Do not burn your Ouijaboard! To get rid of an ouija board, break it into seven pieces and sprinkle with holy water then bury it! If you try to burn an ouija board, whoever hears the board scream has 36 hours to live - DO NOT BURN OUIJA BOARDS!!!!!

No need to burn the ouija board ; just put it in a cupboard and don't use it again. That way everybody is happy.

I put my board in the garbage twice, there is no need to burn it just trash it
Most people do not beleive it it, like the toy company that made it.
You need to discuss it with a Catholic priest.
Your dad does not have to know everything you do does he?

Just stick the thing in the back of a closet somewhere and forget it. It's not going to waft itself back. You're not going to be screwed up by spirits or anything else, unless it's an overdeveloped sense of drama.
