for a project in school (due tomorrow!!!) i am trying to find out the closest water source to the sahara desert that you can drink. and if u know, how far away (in miles) is it from the ending of the desert? you don't even have to know the last part just any information about it you know!! thnx so much!

There are aquifers under some parts of the Sahara Desert. Where they come to the surface you can find oases. In other places the aquifer may not come to the surface but you can still dig a well and pump up water. In addition, there may be rivers that flow thru the Sahara. Part of the Nile river lies near the eastern edge of the Sahara.

There are plenty of drinkable water sources WITHIN the Sahara.
