I have to do a "one man play" that has to last at least 15-20 minutes, and monologues must have a theme.

Thanks for any help!

Dig into your brain ... think about a theme and be creative.

Browse the Internet for topics that are interesting to you and have a debate with yourself about it (in a monologue) or think about books you like (in case you like books) and take a topic from there. Imagine to be in one of the character´s shoes.
Maybe like Juliet (leave Romeo at home), you from your perspective as a teen today... which problems could you have to end up in a similar situation (with both of you surviving but your parents causing trouble). Make up a plot surrounding you.
Don´t forget: intro - main part - conclusion.

Sending some creative vibes ...

The Effects of Gamma Rays on Man in the Moon Marigolds.
Diary of Anne Frank.

W/Gamma Rays, one can take several monologue's and edit out other characters to make one 5 minute, reasonable, believable monologue.

W/Anne Frank....it is all there for you...take 1 -2 diary entries and you have your monologue.

I think acting teachers and directors should supply the needed material to their students. this site is flooded with thousands like you who haven't a clue how to do their homework or prepare for an audition.,
