Believe it or not every state gets snow, it's just that in the extreme southern states it never reaches the ground.
Many years ago it even snowed over Miami, FL, but never hit the ground.

Usually no. It really depends on what you mean by southern states...the south east like Virginia might get a little snow. The mountain areas in the south get snow, for example, Arizona's Four Peaks or Superstition Mountains, Pine Top, gets snow regularly in the winter and last year, I think it was last year, the Valley of Arizona got snow which is unheard off...it is a desert! So basically southern states don't get snow, but if they have mountains then yes. Now with all the weird weather we are having the last few years...I think anything is likely to happen in terms of weather. The most southern State, Florida, has never seen snow as far as I know.

As far south as northern Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and all the other states except perhaps Hawaii gets snow. The southern states get 1-2 inches and are delighted. My daughter in Wisconsin gets more snow than she had in Germany.

I have lived all over and yes I have always had snow. When I was in NC it used to freak out everyone so I could always go to work for extra hours at the Post Office, one day out of 235 scheduled workers only 60 came to work. Right now I am in a valley in the West and it does not snow much right here but a few miles away they get feet of the fluff.

I moved to South Carolina a year ago & since my son is also here, I asked him about snow. Yes, they have had a very light dusting more than once, not yearly, but it's gone by noon, thanks to the sun. They say sometimes if it snows, the snow never hits the ground.Down here, there are no snowplows or salt trucks. They get a dusting of snow, so I hear, & everything goes into a shutdown. Gee, they should go to northeastern Ohio for one winter. Now there it really snows. (lived east of Cleveland) I don't miss the snow & brutal winters at all.

Yes, some of the southern states do get snow. I remember my very first year in Jacksonville, FL. Christmas Eve day we got up, ready to head to spend Christmas with family in Tampa. One look outside told us no one was going anywhere. There had been the ice storm of the century! Beautiful, but definitely messed up a lot of plans.

I live in Georgia and it rarely snows, and when it does it's just a light coating gone by noon. But in 1993 it snowed about 2 feet and everything shut down including the roads. We have no salt or cinder trucks and just a few plows. It was a nightmare as we had no power or water for 5 days.

I live in NC, the mts get a good bit of snow. Farther south here we get occasional snow, but are more likely to have an ice storm. When it does snow, everything stops, because they don't make lot of preparations for it and people aren't used to driving in it. I'm from WV where we had a lot of snow, so it's not as exciting to me as it seems to be to others.

Sometimes. I live in Southern Nevada. We do get snow mostly in the mountains, but everyone once in a while it will fall in the city. It doesn't usually last long or stick, but yes, we get snow.
