I was looking through old issues on the New York Times (yea....) and found this advertisement for the new Mika album and it has all these reviews that were saying how he was the next Freddie Mercury. I've also heard alot of people say this on Y!A, and it makes me wonder, WHY?!?!?
Mika has a high pitched girly voice, Freddie had a huge range. Mika squeals, Freddie hits the high notes. Freddie was an amazing vocalist, Mika is um....... acually, I can't really describe it....
So why in the world is there a comparison?

p p : Freddie Mercury was an amazing musician, one of the best rock vocalist ever. How should his sexuality or death have an impact on this?

Well...I think Mika said it himself.
"...so I tried a little Freddie (MMMM)..."
Sadly, Brian May thinks he's great and supports his efforts.
Nobody can stand up to Freddie! The test of time will tell!...and TIME waits for nobody.

Freddie Mercury was surely one of the greatest singers rock history has seen, possibly the best. I think the reviews are just from people hopeful that someone else as vocally gifted as Freddie would arrive on the music scene.

Don't know who this Mika is, but I do know they'll never again be a Freddy Mercury. They just don't make them like they use to.

i became into listening to one in all his songs as quickly as, and my mom heard it and suggested that he sound basically approximately precisely like Freddie. a number of Mika's songs sound like the songs you're able to pay attention from that era, too. nicely, it rather is in accordance to my mom who grew up with that music. even however no person might desire to ever replace Freddie, if all and sundry is worth of it, Mika is.

okay.....I'll admit that I liked Grace Kelly for all of two weeks.... maybe. The similarity to Queen is there...........but he is not the next Freddie Mercury. NO WAY. The confusing part to me was did I like the song because it reminded me of Queen so much, or was it because I liked Mika...........I'm leaning towards that the song reminds me of Queen.
