Not at all...even if you have a tattoo you don't know how your body will react this time. Not only can you now be allergic to the ink, you can easily get an infection, and what if it was not safe and clean. Even the best places can go wrong some times.
I would NOT get one. Think first about that tiny little baby growing and working so hard right now.
Just wait till after the baby is born, and your done breastfeeding if you choose to do that>
A tattoo can wait

Hmm.... actually, this is one of the times that you shouldn't.
Fresh tattoos actually pose a threat to the overall administering of drugs to you when you're in labor as well. If the tat is less than a year old, and at an injection sight for a drug they're going to administer, they won't administer it due to the increased risk of infection.
I think, also that most places will not tattoo you if they know you're pregnant. This is just b/c of increased risk of infection and harm to you and the baby.
Go ahead and refrain from doing it now. Heck, who knows, you may even change your mind about what you want to get tattooed once you meet your little one! :-) A lot of people I know have gotten a picture of their baby, or their ink footprints tattooed on themselves after they have they baby.
Good luck!

I dont think so. I asked a tattoo artist and he said he will not tattoo pregnant woman because their bodys are trying to deal with too much and then to have to deal with the stess of sitting and getting tattooed is just too much. He says that he also believes that the baby can feel what the mom can feel and he does not want to hurt a baby. I thought he was very insightful!

Its not recommended because of the risk of infection. My sister got her third tattoo a year ago (not pregnant) and got a bad case of cellulitis (sp?). Her whole arm swelled up and she had to be put on antibiotics. When you're preg. your body is unable to fight off infections as easily so you're at an even higher risk. A good rule of thumb during pregnancy is this: Don't do anything that could open your body up to unnecessary infections. No piercings, tattoos, non-emergency surgeries, non-emergency dental work, etc.

I did not realizing i was pregnant and had no prob. But my friend owned a shop and was a neat freak. However i was preg in the last year and was gonna get one and waited after tattoo artist recommendations. there is a small chance you can get hep or an infection and pass it to the baby. A good artist wont give you one preg. wait the baby is worth it.

NOPE!!!!! I don't think that tattoo artists are even allowed to give a pregnant woman a tattoo, that is if they disclose it to them. Why would you want to get a tattoo while pregnant anyway? If you do go ahead with it...don't put it where it could stretch and look all wrinkly once you have the baby!

No. there is an danger of contracting some sort of an infection like Hepatitis B and so on. (Even from the cleanest of places) additionally, your pores and skin ameliorations for the period of being pregnant. this is appropriate to easily wait till after the toddler is born. you do no longer prefer to be apologetic approximately some thing you probably did for the period of being pregnant basically because you 'rather needed it'.

As long as you go to a safe, clean shop and have the work done by a professional, there is nothing involved that should affect your health or the health of your unborn child.
