All the polls are based on opinions of sports writers and coaches. My friends and I have a beer bet that if the fans could vote, the top 25 would be very different. SO... who's the best team.

To make it easier to tabulate the results, please do the poll at http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/fanrankings/

Thanks.

If you're going by strength of schedule - LSU, hands down.

No favoritism here. I am as diehard of an Oregon fan as there is in this country but in all honesty the best team is LSU. Ohio State hasn't played anyone impressive, matter of fact there opponents have been a joke (Youngstown, Akron, Kent State - are you kidding me). Boston College also has had a fairly easy schedule and if they beat Virginia Tech in Blacksburg then maybe there fans have an argument (VTech - the team LSU destroyed). LSU has played some very worthy title contenders and lost to one of the fastest rising programs in college football (Kentucky). As much as I would like to say Oregon - LSU is the most dangerous team in the country and if they win out with there schedule; I say they play in the BCS Championship over an undefeated team.

if you were to talk right now it would be south florida. lsu is the best one lost team but south florida is the best team. usf has played one of the toughest schedules of the year right now and has beaten quality opponents. they beat auburn (they were ranked #17 when the played) at auburn. they beat a then #5 ranked west virginia. they beat a very good north carolina tar heels team and handed them their biggest lost of the season. they crushed central florida who almost upset a big name school as in texas.
they have a fast, tough, and well coached defense. they can stop the run. they have a balanced offense and the don't give up. they are a well coached team who doesn't look ahead.
they have a chance to be national champions.
