edwardz=christianity isnt one huge thing theres alot of things in it like CATHOLIC,LUTHERAN,ORTHODOX,PROTESTANT,BAPTIST etc etc. so saying a christiasn church was weird is stil calling your catholic church weird because its still christian just a sect

No Catholic who knows what he or she is talking about would ever deny being Christian.

If someone asked me what I believed about God I could truthfully say that I was:
+ A Theist
+ A Monotheist
+ A worshiper of the God of Abraham
+ A worshiper of the God of Moses
+ A worshiper of the God of Israel
+ A Christian
+ A Trinitarian

But telling someone that I am a Catholic says all of the above and more.

With love in Christ.

You are right to a degree. Of course catholics are christians. A christian believes in christ as saviour.
however catholics use their specific identity to identify themselves apart from other christian "protestant" sects, therefore even though catholics are christians they are certainly not like other christians. historically catholics have been idenitified as being apart from other christians, specifically in the english speaking world. i.e irish and english catholics.

Alexandr.. shows the historical and still relevant divisions within the christian religion that would make a different interpretation of "scriptures" so polarizing that one interpretation would consider the more senior of them, unchristian. Its a madhouse!

Who says all Catholics deny being Christian? I am Catholic and when someone asks me what my religious preference I say Christian. Catholics just seek deeper into there faith. But a lot of Catholics would love to exclude themselves from Christianity because of the slandering we get from other Christian branches.

Well its more like Christians are catholic because the christian religion is one of the many branches of the catholic religion with other religions such as Presbyterian,Lutheran and such

I think it has something to do with partial ignorance of Jesus Christ's role in Christianity. Catholics say, " Father", and, "Hail Mary full of Grace", Saints, and then they simply go weirder. Period, I mean true, they go weird religiously.

Why say "Christian" when you can say "Catholic?" I think "Catholic" is a better description because its more in-depth than simply "Christian". Just like "Texan" is generally more in-depth than simply 'American".

Catholicism is not Christianity. Catholicism's teachings run contrary to Scripture.
