I've ridden lots of miles in all kinds of weather and your best bet is Rainex. It does wash off, so you'll want to keep the bottle and rag with you. As long as you keep up a little speed, the water will roll right off. If the rain is still too heavy to see through, you have no business being out there. I've been caught in rains where cars were pulling off the road and smart thing to do is get off the road as soon as possible.

I thought about the same thing. Then, seeing how easily I scratched up my face shield, I thought some more. Rain - X has always worked well, and is now accepted by most windscreen manufacturers. At 40 and above, all my windshields have been clear. In the car, it was actually worse with the wipers on. At slow speeds, where there isn't enough wind to push the drops aside, I look over the top of the screen.

I've never seen it done. For one thing, motorcycle windscreens are made from plastic... (well, OK... Lexan or Plexiglas) and would scratch quite easilly if a wiper blade was scrubbing across it all the time.
Besides, motorcycle windscreens are self-cleaning for the most part... Just keep your speed up and those nasty old raindrops will just slide right off.

No don't add a wiper to the faring. The shields are made out of plastic and the wiper will scratch it to the point of being useless.

i've never seen a bike with wipers. where would u put the wiper motor, and how would u seal it against the weather? just clean the wind sheild with pledge, and rain will blow right off. never ever use any ammonia in bike wind sheilds, or u'll ruin them.

Like other people have said, they would scratch too easily. But it does seem like a good idea if you could get past that part. I would use Rain-x on it, it works good on my car windshield.
