I think it is only important if we are going extinct otherwise it's pretty useless. You can always just masturbate.

I would love staying a virgin the rest of my life. Takes more will power to keep yourself "pure" than it does to give into those temptations and pork whoever. I am not a Christian but I still feel this way about it. I pity people who spend so much time thinking about getting laid.

I'd only have sex with someone I will honestly spend the rest of my life with. Otherwise, no. Marriage or not.

It is important, but should not be the most important thing in your relationship. If you can imagine something happening to either your or your partner, that would prevent you from ever having sex with each other again, and you STILL can't imagine being with anyone else, then you will KNOW you are truly in love.

Hey, NO ****, I've been living with the same woman for 14 years, and we haven't had sex in probably 9 years. NO dude, sex is NOT that important. We love each other as much now as when we first got together. We do everything together, go camping, eat out, go to movies, etc.

Sex is the most and the least important thing at once; matter of perspective and situation. I don't understand the opposition between sex/lust and love, they have not much in common and usually overlap just by chance, there is no point in opposing them. I would suggest to take them separately. When you need/get sex enjoy it; when you get love...well, good luck.

Sex (gender) is of course important.
Sexual intercourse is important, but behind in rank to more important things.
It is not the most imprtant.

Self-respect, for example, is more important. Self-respect will stop you from sleeping around and damaging yourself emotionally. If sex was more important, you would sleep around.
If sex were the most important, you would have a boyfriend for his physique. Of course, a relationship is built by common ground, shared interests, aligning future plans, shared beliefs and values. These are all more important.
If sex were the most important, you would not play tennis, or paint pictures, or sing, or have spectacular stage musicals.

Sex is beautiful, but it is certainly not the most important thing in life, in attraction, or in a relationship.

I'd much rather have sex with my bf than just some stranger on the street... To me its more of an intimate experience between him and me, its an expression of love between 2 peole not just something you "do"... ok so i'm an incurable romantic!

A wise man once wrote;

"There is only so much pleasure that can be had from the friction of mucous membranes"

Sex isn't really that important; it's fun, but it's not something to build your life around.

Oh no no nooo my Friend.Sex is a beautiful thing and it is of love.(Or it should be)Sex means nothing without hearts into it.For me it is to give my partner the ultimate pleasures and passions deserved through our bond.It is a part of the big picture of any relationship.No,it is not everything.But it is a fantastic gift we are indeed lucky to be able to bestow upon one another.You can get your rocks off with your hand.But fulfillment of deepest desires and demands that are contrived of love make their transitions from psyche to physical through sex.It is the medium of love.
Hugs!
