Learn to communicate on an intelligent level. Make your thoughts clear and concise so nothing will be misunderstood. I am so bewildered by the lack of skills shown in the answers section where the wrong words are used(there, they're. their; two, too, to, 2). Do these people think this will look good on a resume when trying for a job? It may be cute now, but later it will bite you. And tuck in your shirt.

Communication between staff, parents and community needs to improve. The community still thinks it's the 1960"s with the attitude.."in my day teachers did this, and that"
We have a much more diverse population and the skills taught in 4th grade in 1960 now are taught in 2nd grade.
Parents need to be working with kids at home on homework and over the weekends and summers if their kids fall behind. Parents need to realize teachers are trained and most now have master's degrees. Quit thinking every teacher is sitting on their duff and not teaching. If you do have a teacher whom you think isn't cooperating then take it to the principal with data, dates examples etc. Stop having private parent/teacher conferences at 8:15 in the morning while the teacher is trying to get 30 kids to sit down and take attendance.
If your kid's disorganized- get them organized at home too! Pay for tutoring if they need it-quit thinking the schools are made of money.
Administrators; make inservices more worthwhile, allow teachers to teach rather than do so many duties. Simplify paperwork and committee work. Pay compensation time for nights teachers have to pay babysitters to come to school at night or have meetings that run after dinnertime. GET SUBSTITUTES!!!!! Have schedules ready before school starts, treat teachers respectfully.
