She's not the worst mother ever, though she could do better. There are worse people out there who have done more horrible things to their children. I don't think she should be institutionalized, but she should attend parenting classes.

It certainly wouldn't do her any harm.
But I think she should only be institutionalized if she is not willing to see a psychiatrist on her own.

I think she needs to address her issues. She is in denial about something, that's for sure. I don't know if she's the worst mother, but she didn't really try to keep them, huh?
