"And while I will challenge anybody fact-for-fact who says Nash was more deserving than LeBron, let's just assume that I had a few drinks, am in an insanely generous mood, and granted benefit-of-extreme-doubt courtesy #2. But what defies any semblance of fairness, logic, and rational human thought is the indefensible LANDSLIDE MVP vote that concluded with Nash receiving 57 to Lebron's 16 first place votes. With Socrates, Plato, and NBA MVP voting history turned on their respective heads, this vote is "Exhibit A" why future MVP judging should be permanently taken away from our nation's sportswriters. "

"So from now on, I will go back to rooting for Steve Nash, and for everything that he represents. I'll root for his game, his community service and most urgently, for his anti-war stance to be heard by as many people as possible. And if he is not facing my beloved Knicks in the finals, I might even root hard for him to get that championship ring. But it is simply not fair or ethical to wildly root for Nash, but not challenge the white privilege that he regularly receives by a media that predominantly looks likes him, lives vicariously through him, and probably wants to BE him. Rooting for Nash comes with the added responsibility of demanding the very same accolades, credit, and attention be given to any other athlete who is just as worthy, if not more worthy of our praise. So yes, it is clearly my fault because while I was innocently cheering for Steve Nash, enjoying his on-court game, and admiring his off-court causes, it took me this long to write why "It's Not Steve Nash's Fault".

Any PG that shoots over 50% while hitting 2 3s a game AND leading the league in assists at over 11 per game all the while being a contender for the NBA champs, deserves it. Nash is not considered a scorer, but he averaged over 18 a game last year. What did LBJ do last year? He didn't lead the league in scoring, he can't shoot a mid range jumper to save his life, not to mention free throws (which he shot BELOW 70% last year). He had chances to win games with his free throws and blew it. He may be deserving one year, and he is an incredible talent, but he did not deserve it last year, Nash did. If Kobe weren't so hated by so many, he would get more mention, and an argument could (should) be made for him, but not for LBJ. I bet the author of that article knew better than to hang his hat on Kobe due to his off court stuff, but it would have made more sense to be arguing for Kobe over LBJ.

Actually...you are making the opposite point. White achievers in basketball are assumed to be getting praise because they are white...not because they are good. It's just like how African-Americans are treated in an affirmative action situation...like they don't deserve to be where they are and only got there because of privilege.

Point guards get more credit because they run the court...just like Magic got all the credit back in the '80s. They make every player on the court better. Magic even made A.C. Green look good.

LeBron doesn't make his teammates any better. Like Kobe, he tries to make up for their inabilities...which does not work. Teams can double-team him and win. If teams double-team Steve Nash...they lose.

In the final 30 years might be, Jerry West, John Havlicek, Kevin Mchale have been surely larger. Dirk might be a rough name additionally Ginobili. Kevin Love shall be larger and take this spot in the following few years. I gotta upload this, any individual above mentioned Nash can not shoot, he is likely one of the five first-rate shooters on this planet in these days, in the event you say he can not shoot Bill Engvall has a signal for you

You must be some kind of a nut! White guys have it hard in the NBA. They get a little extra elbow grease and stuff. The black guys don't like it when a white guy is better than they are - remember Larry Bird? He should have been wearing body armour out there!
