In my health class, some boys were saying that while they can't get STDs from masturbating, girls can because of germs coming in contact with your nether regions. Is this true?

STD stands for sexually transmitted disease. Masterbation is not sex, so no...you cannot get an STD from masterbation. I suppose if you don't wash your hands before you touch yourself, you could get a vaginal infection like bacterial vaginosis - but that is not an STD.

Kind of. A yeast infection, most likely is what they are talking about, and it is not an STD. However, if you and a g/f share a "sex toy" of some sort, anything that is inserted, and she has an STD and you do not clean it prior to your use, then yes. Also, if you allow someone else to finger you, and he/she has any open cuts on their digits (i.e. a peeled off hangnail) and they have an STD you are at risk. However, if you are doing it yourself, with your own hands (naturally) with no other objects, and you wash your hands before you start, you'll be fine. And if there is no actually insertion (i.e. just rubbing your clit), you really have nothing to worry about.
Oh, and one other thing, never use anything that has be in or anus inside of your vagina that will put you at serious risk for a few really nasty infections.

No! As long as your hands/toys are clean you won't get ANY diesases from masturbting (STDs or otherwise And even if they weren't clean you wouldn't get an STD). You need to actually come in contact with the fluids from a person who has an STD in order to get it. You can't give it to yourself!
