i will be going to russia and my son wants to bring his playstation 2 , but we are unsure if it will work with a russian tv

you need a special adapter for it i would check with local tech stores mabye you could find one in russia that way he can look forward to it then bam it cant work and hell need something to occupy his mind, so yuo can show him the beauty of the homeland sneaky eh.... but seriously go to best buy or futureshoo something along those lines happy hunting

Most PAL TVs now support NTSC signal. I don't think it's going to be a problem.

you need a adapter to covert the video output to your tv
