Yes we are being ripped off.The oil companies should take some of those hugh proffits and give back to the consumer in lower prices for a time.Do you really think it will go down just because alot of people will stop driving because they can't afford it.? No it won't.I myself have to make decisions everyday as to drive or not and even the amount allocated in my budget now will not cover my needsIts more and more money but less and less gasoline. And where I live its $4.28 for a gallon of milk and yes I do complain but noones hears me.I don't know about you people but now its alot of things you can not cook without milk or a milk product, that includes chees and cheese products so we are getting hit from all sides. And no releif in sight.Sorry i am in usa but I tried to answer your question.

Okay, here's the thing about gas prices. We go to the grocery store and we buy a gallon of milk. What do we pay? $3.50, $3.79, $3.46

No one complains about the price of milk, but we all complain about the price of oil. Milk is pasturized by heating it for a few seconds at a certain temperature. The cows are milked, the milk is contained, pasturized, packaged and sold in stores.

Now, do we think it's easy to process crude oil in this manner? A lot of work has to be done to get it to all the different things that are made from it. The reason why gas is so expensive is because we just don't buy a gallon of it at at time as we do milk. We buy 15, 25... etc., at at time. if our cars ran for 100 miles on a gallon of gas we wouldn't complain would we? See my point. It's the quantity of gas we buy that's so expensive.

No, I'm not sticking up for the gas companies, but you have to look at it logically.

You are not getting ripped off, you just don't understand basic economics.
