It's not much fun as you find people give you a present and say...."This is a special gift for your birthday and Christmas combined". So you lose out. At Christmas there is the usual partying and celebrations, so you miss out again.
My daughter has her birthday on December 31 so we always celebrate it on 30 June.
Why not tell your friends and family that from this year you plan to celebrate your birthday on another date, say 30 November. Arrange a party and invite your friends.
One answer to prevent this happening would be to ban sexual relations during March !!!!
Anyway, many happy returns.

I don't know about you, but everyone I knew that had a birthday on or near Christmas felt cheated as people who's birthday's were not got a special celebration, just not a mention in one that was already going on. Also, many as children felt that they got less gifts as a result.
Contrary to popular belief, Christmas is not the birthday of Jesus Christ. The Roman Church proclaimed December 25th as christ's "official birthday" to dis-associate this day with with the pagan/celtic holiday of "Yule". Yule was a pagan holiday that celebrated the noticeable return of longer light to the day.
No matter what else the church did, they could not stop people from celebrating yule, so they tied it into the lord's birthday.
Even with that, Yule has hung in as part of Christmas. The Christmas Tree, (dispite the quaint fairy tale told of it as a tradition brough here from Germany) The Yule Log, Yuletide Greetings and Yuletide Fare all tie back to the original festival.
I hope this helps :-)

Both my mom and my sister have birthdays in december, my sisters is on the 3, my moms is on the 17, and my mom and dads anniversary is on the 17 too. I dont think they hate it but the shopping list is pretty long and my sister really hates to shop so she doesn't get to excited about Christmas.
My mom has a friend who was born on christmas day, they go out to eat on her birthday so she doesn't have to cook, but again it does distract from your birthday.

My cousin has his birthday on Christmas and it's that joint-birthday/Christmas gift thing. I have my birthday on December 17th and have still always felt that way, but not as bad. Now, I love having my birthday near Christmas! It's usally increased odds that more of my family will be around for my birthday so that's cool!

Hi,
My dads birthday is on Christmas day!! which means we've got to make it extra special for him, he doesn't like a fuss but I always do something memorable and at the end of the night when we're having our Christmas dinner we can all have a laugh and joke about it.
Thanks!!
