It is our 1st year of being married, and she is overseas at this moment. She is in the Air Force, and stationed in Qatar until next March. I don't know what to get her. I want to get something that is romantic, and shows how much I miss and love her. Any suggestions?

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

My husband is in the Air Force. We live in Okinawa Japan. For our first year anniversary we wrote each other a letter expressing our love. It was the sweetest gift because he is not very good at being all gushy like that. So it was nice to have it in a letter. You can either hand write it or print it out. But make it look good. Send it to her with some of her favorite flowers. The first year anniversary is paper so this works well with that.

A paper reward, ie publication, card, and many others, has been the conventional 1st marriage ceremony anniversary reward. However, watches have end up a extra widespread, present day 1st anniversary reward. My husband bought me an excessively stylish watch that does not calls for battery, ie makes use of gentle or mechanical movement to vigor it. A lady can in no way have too many stylish watches to put on. Citizen makes watches the Eco-force line that makes use of gentle.

Well first of all CONGRATULATIONS! How about something from the heart. Something that takes TIME to make. Something that you make yourself like taking the time to find out how to make paper flowers and a cardboard vase with pipe cleaner stems. Women LOVE it when a man takes time to find a gift and love it more when the gift is made by the man. Perhaps you go to a place where you can paint your own pottery and pick out something that reminds her of home. Get creative man! Think outside the box. There is so much more than store bought flowers and candy. She will LOVE whatever YOU MAKE! I promise.

The traditional First Anniversary present is "Paper." I'm not sure how romantic you can be with paper, other than to write her a letter about how much you love her and how much she means to you. I know that I'd find something handwritten by the man I love to be very special. And that would fulfill your "paper" and "romantic" requirement.

2 dozen roses and a card specially made, telling her how you feel about her, expressing your commitment, devotion and unending love for her. Let her know in your own words what she means to you! Over a nice dinner for 2! You have a life time to get material things you could ill-afford right now.
Oh yeah your have to put rose pedals leading from the bath to the bed before you tuck her in! That'll cost you a few roses but trust me she won't mind.

A video tape of yourself doing you r daily chores. show the sights and sounds of changes in the neighborhood and state and video tape greetings from her friends and relative in the area and end it with thirty minuted of romantic words and kisses just for her from you- this is very inexpensive and she will be enraptured by it.
