I like Aerosmith and ACDC but what are some good songs by The Who, or any other classic rock bands. But not hard metal rock or not present rock.

Man, it's hard to ask a Who fan like me this question without me giving dozens of songs. So, here's some tracks I feel get across the breadth and potency of their stuff over the course of their entire career:

Magic Bus
Bargain
Baba O'Reilly
Mike Post Theme
The Real Me
5:15
Who Are You
I've Known No War
905
The Quiet One
Slip Kid
Glittering Girl
Sound Round
My Wife
Love Reign O'er Me
Trick of the Light
Boris the Spider
I Can See For Miles
Dreaming Below the Waist

... Oh, and whoever said they prefer the Limp Bizkit version of Behind Blue Eyes should be stripped of their ability to hear!

The Who in the early days of The Who released an album called Live at Leeds it has a double album's worth of stuff that I always consider my favourite music of all... then if you want some pointers on how to be satisfied with your musical ability there's Tommy another double album that puts all the songs therein into a concept so to speak.

But, Who's Next is the best of the Who....

Songs mentioned include:

My Generation
Won't get fooled again
Happy Jack

Then if you're still there after my paltry opinion here's another one for what it's worth... Paul Revere and the Raiders... they look a little corny but they got some hits that keep coming back for more... like... Him or Me...and Good Thing... and Kicks.

Lastly since there may be hope for this question The Rolling Stones used to make some pretty neat records... like Exile on Mainstreet one of their best with some neat songs on it that I'm sure you've heard on the local radio station... and some other ones that's a bit too too like Casino Boogie and Rocks Off....

Any Temptations is nice stuff if you can get it... I Can't Get Next to You and if you insist Ball of Confusion....

Alice Cooper's third and fourth albums are tops though... Love it to Death and Killer they're called... but like I say this is just my opinion for what it's worth and Alice may take some getting used to.

Good songs by The Who are
My Generation
Behind Blue Eyes
Boris the Spider
I Can See For Miles
Can't Explain it
The Kids are Alright
Baba O'Reily

If you aren't familiar with most of the music by The Beatles it's pretty mandatory in classic rock. Other good classic rock bands are Wings, Led Zepplin, Electric Light Orchestra, The Rolling Stones, John Lennon...and countless countless awesome bands.
