You are a late bloomer. Don't worry, it will happen soon. Late bloomers usually grow very fast, once they get a growth spurt, and the puberty follows that. Keep in mind that, once you go through puberty, the growth plates in your bones grow shut, and you will not get very much taller after that.

If you are in puberty, but just no hair under the arms, it could be related to your ancestry. Some nationalities, such as certain American native tribes, do not have body hair.

And hairy young men feel like losers too. There is nothing wrong with you, absolutely nothing at all. Don't let your buddies put you down, and if they do, find new friends. Your time will come, and you might be a guy who doesn't have a lot of hair.

I had hair under my armpits when I was 8. It was horrible, especially being a girl, and my mom didn't understand my humiliation.

It is difficult to live an everyday life when you are different than most of your friends. But when you are older, you will find you have a lot of compassion for people going through what you did, and you will be there for them. It is like a just reward for paying the penalty price.

Nothing is wrong with you. This is not unusual.
Five Stages of Puberty - Guys

1 Normal Age Range: 9-12, Average: about 10
Male hormones are becoming active, but there are hardly, if any, outside signs of development. Testicles are maturing, and some boys start a period of rapid growth late in this stage. You start needing deodorant.

2 Normal Age Range: 9-15, Average: 12-13
Testicles and scrotum begin to enlarge, but penis size doesn't increase much. Very little, if any, pubic hair at the base of the penis. Increase in height and change in body shape.

3 Normal Age Range: 11-16, Average: 13-14
Penis starts to grow in length, but not much in width. Testicles and scrotum still growing. Pubic hair starts to get darker and coarser and is spreading towards the legs. Height growth continues and body/face shape look more adult. Voice begins to deepen (and crack). Some hair around the anus grows.

4 Normal Age Range: 11-17, Average: 14-15
Penis width increases, as well as length. Testicles and scrotum still growing. Pubic hair begins to take adult texture, although covers a smaller area. Most boys have first ejaculations. Underarm hair develops. Facial hair increases on chin and upper lip. Voice gets deeper and skin gets more oily.

5 Normal Age Range: 14-18, Average: around 16
Nearing full adult height and physique. Pubic hair and genitals have adult appearance. Facial hair grows more completely and shaving may begin now or soon.

During the late teens and early twenties, some men grow a bit more and develop more body hair, especially chest hair.

Everyone develops at a different rate. If you are a guy, it's really not that big of deal. Alot of guys wait til later to "develop". By the way, when my son was 14 he had very little hair in his armpits. I was a little worried about it myself. Now he is 15 and has tons of hair in his armpits, his voice has dropped and he is even developing a mustache now. Good luck and God Bless!

Everyone will say this and you won't believe them.....but don't worry about it. really it's no big deal. Alot of people don't grow body hair until they're in their late teens and sometimes even later.
I've got really hairy armpits and when I wear a t-shirt and lift my arms all you can see creeping out from my t-shirt is alot of ugly black hairs which I think is pretty gross. So they're not all they're cracked up to be. Most girls I know are turned off by too much body hair so count yourself lucky.

Nothing is wrong with you. Some people don't get hair under their arms until later in their teen years. Give it a bit of time and if your still hair free, maybe go see your doctor. Are there other signs of puberty present. Acne, voice change, etc. You may have low testosterone levels but I'd give your body a chance to go through the changes on it's own pace.
I'm 40 something and still have sparse facial hair!
