Keeping the commies at bay.
It's 1955 all over again.
Just now, the commies are really here. Not the McCarthy imaginary ones.
They have announced their presence. They say inane things like: "Well, socialism DOES have some good ideas we might be able to use". Then there is Hillary who says: "We must yield up some of our sovereignty for the sake of a one world government"
Let's not forget Nancy who says: "Once we are in the white house, we will bring about a new system of taxation"

Globalization. Almost every other problem we have stems from it. The shrinking middle class, Health care deficiencies, trade imbalance and economy all hang on that one hook.
With globalization we constantly must restructure our indigenous skills because those that had skills no longer have jobs due to relocation of manufacturers seeking cheaper labor.
The loss of good paying jobs in the skills category leads to the shrinking middle class.
The shrinking middle class and manufacturing jobs means lower wages and less money for health care.
The influx of Mexican workers due to the goal of a North American union is further deteriorating the base that this country is built on.
If you have ever blended things together you know that the end product is worse than the best and better than the worst but still may not be of a sufficient quality to sell.

To survive the economic growth of countries like China and India. Also to combat a world of extremist who want to establish a religious thinking on the western world and for that matter the entire world.

Wow, a lot of good answers so far, all of them basically come out to taking care of the American people, so why do we have so many debates on "my candidate will invade that country, how bout you?" and "if your candidate wins, he won't even invade such and such countries"
It obvious we all are more concerned about our own welfare than the voting rights of Iraqis, so why can't the politicians think that way?

To overcome the corrupt two parties that have stolen true democracy from the American people.
I believe that a strong third party or independent candidacy and campaign for president is necessary for our crippled democracy to heal and flourish. I also believe that it is necessary in order to evict the current Resident of the White House.
An election cannot give a country a firm sense of direction if it has two or more national parties which merely have different names but are as alike in their principles and aims as two peas in the same pod. -- Franklin Delano Roosevelt
An election tells how many of your supporters are alive, and a war tells how many are willing to be dead. -- Anonymous

Not losing our identity as a nation and what it took to become America. At the rate we're going we'll have so many illegals here having babies in another twenty, thirty years, Americans will be a minority in their own country, that is if we still exist as a nation and not a North American Union.

Truth...to re-establish honest governance, and to root out corruption. if this is not done we will lose everything that has made us great through our history. people must be given honest facts in order to govern themselves, otherwise it ceases to be a free democratic nation. Spin is robbing our nation of it's integrity.
Citizenship in not a right, but a responsibility every citizen who cares for his country, must be engaged in a battle for the integrity of government

Water! It's been creeping up on us and it's here. California, Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico are close to being in trouble. Not sure on the Atlanta issue, but it's kind of spooky also.
