Smell is present without heater on but worse with it on. Coolant level is normal. Pressure tests fine. Two garages have checked it and can't find anything. I'm open for suggestions.

Replace the overflow cap / which also acts like the radiator cap. The seal could be seaping causing vapors to escape.

Well if you know its an antifreeze smell then its more then likely heater core related. It may have a very small leak.

you may have a small seepage at the heater core. check the A/C drain hole to see if you see signs of antifreeze. The antifreeze will be orange in color.

does your front windshield seem to fog up? the smell of antifreeze in the car indicates a leaking heater core. The windshield fogging up would make it a certainty.

You might want to check your heater core. The antifreeze runs through it.

it could be coming from your boil over bucket, and since you are running the air or heat more it is sucking in the smell. check your boil over, it could be over filled. I would say its a pin hole in your heater core but not if recirc stops the smell.

Since "recirc" stops the smell, I'll bet you are smelling windshield washer fluid, which drips down into the HVAC intake vents located where the wipers are attached at the base of your windshield. (outside)
