This is a little deep....humans are social creatures...being alone for eternity would actually be a trap...because we could never maintain such isolation without a cage...soooo...this would not/could not be freedom....
...and to be trapped with the one I love would not really be a trap...but a marvelous opportunity to be with my love and have "all the time in the world" to bask in the trappings of love, desire, discovery and fulfillment....I do love to twist your words....hope you don't mind.....

Being alone for eternity is no good, I think we all agree to that. In the second option I find a contradiction - you can't be with the one you love and be trapped at the same time. If you love this person and he loves you back you wouldn't really need anybody else and secondly the true love is not a trap, it 's ment to set us free!
So definitely I would rather be free and loved for eternity:)

I already live the first so without a thought the second. If it is true love it would be an eternal bliss as said once already.
What could make you any happier than that? I would trade everything I have or am for that trapped with the one i love for eternity than to be free and travel the world and forever be alone. Only the few choose to be alone. Most would not choose that I am sure. Not that they are wrong, it is just not for everyone.

Good Question! I would rather let eternity decide the outcome because I would not want to place the judgement of captivity on the one I love, just because I love. Neither would I want to be free but all alone, because that would be like saying the other person is non-existant in my world, and would ruin the outcome of chances that I would find that person through my freedom of searching. So to rephrase your question to the calmness of neither a good option, it should be read as such: "Would you rather be alone but free to find the one your meant to be with, or trapped with all comforts knowing the person you are meant to be with will join you shortly??? Kinda like a new buddy making an entrance in your jail cell. Your question was interesting, but no one can honestly take that sentence. It is like saying you have won the powerball, Do you want your money in a lump sum of 100,000,000 or annuity of 12,000,000 over 25 years.... Nobody, plans to wait 25 years -- you want it now!

Alone and free.
Trapped-- to take physical control or possession of (something) forcibly. A position or situation from which it is difficult or impossible to escape . Doesn't sound good to me. Was it a better situation for slaves to be trapped with their mate in the long run and did it cure all their heartache of being free??

I would rather be trapped with the one i loved, after all that's the purpose why i live for eternity. A nature's call for reproduction.
Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

To be with the one we love for eternity is EVERYBODY's DREAM. I could even settle for just moments of eternity if it means being with the one I LOVE.
In fact, being all ALONE will get one trapped within the prison of his own,..thus making him NO FREE man at all.

What is freedom without hapiness? Would you rather be free with storming clouds, or trapped in loving sun light?
I would rather be trapped with the one (oneS, if possible) i love, because simply being with the one i LOVE makes freedom all the less important, and being trapped all the less noticeable.
EDIT
after reading nicki s's answer, i'm wondering by "trapped with teh 1 you love"; does that mean if you're trapped they come along with you, or is it the situation that happens to be that you both are stuck with each other?

they say that two are better than one and if that other person is the one i love, nothing beats it. and trapped for eternity...together, that sounds like a dream come true for a true lover. i'd give anything for that. just to be with her is the best day of my life. imagine if it lasts a lifetime or eternity!!
i am in to get trapped with the one i love!

I would much rather be trapped on a deserted island with all types of fruit and vegetation and fish with the one I love than be free, to do what, all alone! Most humans are social creatures! It is better to struggle with someone than by yourself! I call that cooperation, comprise, and having each other's back which is what true love is made of!
