Though I suppose one vote doesn't really matter...

I was just thinking about this today, as it's the day of the election between Niki Tsongas (Paul Tsongas' widow) and Jim Oganowski (brother of Flight 11 pilot John Oganowski) for Marty Meehan's Congressional seat.

Any voter can vote for anyone they want, even if that voter is the candidate. Since ballots are secret ballots, how would you control that?

Your vote is cast from a selection of candidates. If you vote at your polling place the act of voting is done away from the view of others either behind a screen or off to one side or another. If you are an absent voter your ticket comes to your house, you make your selection and seal the ticket in the envelope and return to the registrar of voters. All voting is done in private and in secret....you can vote for whomever you want....including yourself....

Who's going to check to see if they have or not ? The main and most important duty is that everyone get out one way or another and vote for the person they feel will do the best job for everyone.

Richardson went against the vote of his very own state. a sprint element you took place to have neglected. besides, the states with the great Latino vote have already voted. PR is going to Hillary besides, they have already made their decision sparkling. Richardson has given his state to McCain, or they are going to stay domicile and not vote.

Of course they vote for themselves. They sure aren't going to vote for their opponent. Besides, it's a secret ballot.
