When Bush Sr. left office and Clinton was elected, the key players from the Bush Sr. administration took jobs in a "think tank". They crafted a plan for post-cold war America. This plan became known as the Wolfowitz Doctrine and stated that rather than cut back on our military following the fall of the only other superpower, the US should ramp up military spending and use it's position to the maximum advantage in an effort to conquer the world.
This document described a plan to first control the oil pipelines in Afghanistan, then take complete control of Iraq and overthrowing it's regime. Iraq was to become a permanent occupation with the next escalation towards the same goal in Iran.
From there Syria and so on and so on.
This is exactly what's happening - they're working the plan. Iran is the next link in the chain.
When Bush Jr. took office he re-instated the key players including many of the signers of the Wolfowitz document
Interestingly, the Wolfowitz doctrine also described the necessary catalyst to implement the plan would be a devastating terrorist attack on the US.
Seems 9/11 was part of the plan as well.
