OK so I really dont like the whole hyphinated last name but the father and I are not together so we thought we should represent both of our familys. It is a family tradition for the first born males in my family to have the middle name Alexander so I would really like to stick with that. It is just so hard for the first name, it is already so long, so it will have to be short I think but I just dont know any advice would be much appreciated:)

I think a shorter name would definitely sound better with Alexander as the middle name (which I love, it's very manly and strong, and as a mn he won't really be one of the hundreds of Alex's in his school).

How about Max Alexander (the x's sound well together, I think), Westley 'West' Alexander, Aidan Alexander (sometimes I like the whole alliteration thing, although you might not like the AA here), Kent Alexander, Henry Alexander, Bruno Alexander, Milo Alexander, Samson Alexander, Logan Alexander, Finley Alexander, Edwin Alexander, Jack Alexander, Luke Alexander, George Alexander, Remy Alexander, Owen Alexander, Alfie Alexander, Winston 'Win' Alexander, James Alexander, Julius Alexander, Caspian 'Cap' Alexander (I would suggest either Casper or Jasper, but the double -er's sound weird), Oliver Alexander, Iain Alexander, etc.

Alexander is such a great name that it doesn't really matter whether his first name is really traditional, like Oliver or Max, or more 'out there' like Bruno, Winston, and Caspian. It all balances out nicely =D. My personal favorites are Caspian (Cap is such a cute nickname, but then again, he'd be Caspian Crawford-Brew, which is probably too weird for you), Max (or Maxwell, whatever you like), and Owen (Owen Alexander Crawford-Brew - think about how he'll be called down at his high school graduation and see if you still love the name lol).

Anyway, best of luck with your baby!
