This smell used to be in clothes I put in plastic or cardboard boxes to store, now I am noticing it in most of the drawers and in the linen closet in the bathroom, and other places too. Should I change to open shelves? Or do you have other solutions? My house has too much moisture and I run a de-humiditfier part of the time, but still getting that problem in anything stored for more than a few weeks.
Thanks in advance!! LIve well and do good!

use the vacuum seal bags
not only will your clothes stay fresh but they will take up less space

The best solution would be (if you have access to the open air) to hang them on a clothes line for a few hours on a dry day. Shelves would be better than drawers, and wrapping them in breathable wrapping (plastic with holes in or paper wrap) would also help.

shelves would be a great idea but everything will show. You could get a big bowl that would fit on the floor and put some charcoal in it. that absorbs mustyness, also those little silicone packets that come with certain items. ( i save them and put them in our basement along with a couple bowls of charcoal.)

i would suggest getting another dehumidifier, also you can put dryer sheets in your drawers, or pick up some cedar blocks, tuck them in the drawers these must be refreshed by a lite sanding occasionally.
