When do you get your first sonogram?? Do they usually schedule the first one after your first visit?? II have not seem my doctor yet. (I am 5 weeks) I have an app next wed. and I was just wondering what they do at that appointment?? If they do a sonogram or they set a date up to do it. Thanks

With my first, I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks. With my 2nd, it was 11 weeks. I liked the 11 week one because I could see a lot more.

i was 7 weeks 5 days at my first appt. and they did sonogram to confirm my lmp date i gave them. if its within +/- 3 days of your lmp then its very accurate. if not they will determine another due date. you wont see much that early and may not hear a hb. usually that is closer to 7-8 weeks. good luck!

Some docs do it at the first visit--but normally 16-18 weeks, that's when they can tell the sex of the baby. Congrats!

It's usually after several months. They have to be able to see the baby. They will schedule it ahead of time because you have to drink a lot of water before your appointment.

Usually they do one at your first visit to confirm your pregnancy. Then, in a routine pregnancy, they'll do one at 19-20 weeks. If you are high risk then you'll have them more often.
For me, it makes it all SO REAL!! It's very exciting (and scary!!)

they will do an IVS on your first visit.
and sometimes do one on the 2nd visit to make sure of ur due date.
After that its usually 20wk one.

i got my fris one at 4 weeks so i guess it depends on your obgyn, but then you can ask about it when you go to the doc. and they can tell u when they are going to do it , or u might be able to get one when u get there your frist time......
i knew i was over 3 weeks so i ask them to do one to see when my due date was, and they did...........
