We're lookin at a piece of land that's got a (def fixer-upper) house on it but it's not connected to water, save for the well on property. It's got a septic tank, but as far as water... What should I be asking in regards to the level of difficulty in setting it up on city water? -If it can even be set up on city water... What are my options, anyone know?

Thx bunches.

If the city has not provided mains up your street, then you cannot even cosider connecting to the city water supply. If the city HAS mains running up your street, then the question would be why the property has no hook up to the mains.

Regarding the well: You need to know how much volume is produced by the well. Volume determines water pressure. Enough pressure to provide tap water will not be enough to provide a shower, or fill a washing machine.

Don't ask the seller these questions, or the seller's agent. Ask YOUR agent.

Ask your Realtor if there is any city or district water available. If not, ask the county to test the well water for quality. Depending on how hard or soft the water is, you may need a water softener for the house and a reverse osmosis system for drinking. Good luck!
