my good friend just helped me get a job and I just bought dinner for her one night when we were out. If you aren't that good of friends I'm thinking a thank you card and maybe a small gift certificate to a store you know they like. Or maybe a bottle of wine :) can't go wrong with that!

How about a gift basket or bag with movie passes, soda, popcorn and candy?
Or think of something that your friend likes to do and do a theme around that.
