buy good equiptment.cheesy gear will not last , dont sound good, and will hinder your musical experence.
look for fellow musicians that share you same type genre.
have a set place and time for rehersal.moveing around and packing and unpacking is a bummer.ots better to audition people you dont know , that way, when some one isnt working out, no friends are lost or feelings hurt.
never do a joint purchase with fellow band members.you supply your gear, let everyone else do the same.otherwise ,when someone leaves the band, there will be prblems.i have done this for over 40 years.trust me.(:

get a good drummer,agood bass guitarist,a good
lead guitarist,a good key board player,a few good
backing singers, and last but least a good lead vocalist
and hey presto you have a good band.
all you need now is a good booking manager.
