Dear Poster,
If you'd like to get married that's your decision and not ours. However, you will need to follow the rules of the state you're in. I've posted them here below:
"The following are states where marriage is entered into by those over the age of 18 and with parental consent at 16: Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
The rest of the states are outlined below:
Arizona: 16- 18 years of age must receive consent from parents and a superior court judge.
Arkansas: Women who is 16 can get married with parental consent yet men have to be 17.

Nebraska: 19 is the legal age of marraige here, but if you’re 17 and have approval from your parents then go get married.
New Hampshire: If you’re 14 and a man or 13 and a woman then you can get hitched provided that you receive parental permission along with a judge’s blessing.
New York: If you’re 16 then you only need parental consent, but if you’re 14 then you’ve gotta get the judge’s approval too.
North Carolina: 16 and have the consent of your parents then go get married. If you are pregnant then you can get hitched at any age.
Ohio: If you’re underage, you need parental consent.
Oregon: If you’re 17, you need your parents’ approval.
Texas: 14-18 year olds need parental consent before they get married, but not if you’ve already been married and are re-marrying.
Utah: 16-18 year olds need parental consent before getting married and if you’re 14 then you will also need a judge’s permission.
Washington: If you’re 17, you need parental consent.
West Virginia: Legally must be 18 to get married."
Once you're married then you can move on to getting his papers. As long as he is married to a citizen of the USA it doesn't matter how old you are.
Sincerely,
Mike

First, wherever you got that stuff about the Catholic faith.... wrong!
The Catholic church does not support marriages unless they are for love, with the intention of having children (creating a family unit) & done so in the light of God & of free will.
Second any fraudulant act as far as documentation goes will land everyone involved in a heap of trouble. Do you think the authorities don't check this stuff? It sounds more like an imigration issue than a marriage issue. The "Mexican border problem" is known about acround the world.
Now, if you love one another, wait until you're both legally able to marry & live together in the place you choose. You will have a happier more peaceful life as a result.
The alternative, which is close to what you propose, is living a lie & looking for the authorities over your shoulder every day.
Your choice, your life, no excuses later.

I think you need to be 18 in order for you to fix his papers, then you will be at a legal age to do whatever you want with your life, if you are 17 1/2 wait until you are 18 and that way you wont need your parents signatures to get married...
good luck!

I have never heard of Catholics having this view on marriage, and I really hope you aren't getting married just to make him legal...
But as for his papers...If you guys are married you don't have to be the one sponsoring him. My sister married a man from India, and my parents were the ones sponsoring him and petitioning for his green card because you have to be able to prove you make above a certain income. If your finances allow it, your best bet is an immigration lawyer.

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. This website will show you how to save a marriage and avoid divorce, even if you're the only one trying https://tr.im/Bjq5J

The first thing you must know is if you want to save your marriage and if you find yourself alone in this desire, waiting for the other spouse to make the first move is the beginning of the end. Learn here https://tinyurl.im/aHL2p If you are looking for someone to blame or someone else to put the emotional and physical work into saving the marriage, again, it's going to fail.

If he wants to become legal, he will have to become a citizen on his own. The laws have changed and he will not become a citizen just because he marries an American. He needs to understand that he is on his own to make this happen.
