You can have a one or two piece back,top,neck and head,ribs,pegs,soundpost and bracing.There are many variables,down to the varnish and quality of wood. If you're serious you could go to the public library for a start.Maybe meet and talk with a Luthier if possible.Violin making is an art and a science.It is super interesting!Good luck to you.P.S. there are some resources you can just Google.

well the top and bottom are usually carved off one piece each. the sides i think have several pieces (not sure here how many)then there's the neck, that's one piece. then the little screwy things are sometimes wood. that's not including the bow, which also is one piece. it's very hard to make them.
