The one thing that people every where forget, is they made a mistake by leaving their children unattended. It doesn't make them killers, or bad parents or self-absorbed people, it makes them human. That's all, a mistake that unfortunately ended in disaster. God knows that there are alot of parents out there who have left kids in the car while they run in to the bank or have run over to neighbours while the baby is sleeping, yet these are the people criticized and accusing the McCann's. Everyone just wants to think the worst in this situation.

She's certainly proving her naivety if she thinks her weight is the reason she's generally not seen as a good mother.
People would have been more sympathetic from the start if she had once said "we were wrong".

So let's get this right? her daughter is missing (Most likely dead) because her and Gerry abandoned her without a care, then instead of looking for her, spend all their time and 'Madeleine's funding' to build a defence, which continuously whines on about their innocence etc.... and all she is bothered about is her appearance??? EDIT - Is this another tongue in cheek comparisson with Rhys Jones' mother? Mrs Jones is naturally maternal, lovely and quite cuddly. The sympathy she's received is because she is natural and we can all see the Jones' grief - nothing to do with her bloody breasts. Remember Gerry's pathetic statement about the Jones' - 'they're ok - they'll have closure...'

I agree with the other poster further down that there are a lot of skinny mums out there aswell, who care for their kids and wouldn't leave them alone. Size has nothing whatsoever to do with it.
