I think all teachers need to learn self defense. But to bring a gun into class and leaving it in a desk or brief case, no way. Some stupid kid that didnt make the deans list or a good grade could find it, and go on a shooting binge.There should be medal detectors in all schools, and also to some of you teachers out there, that know a child has some sort of learning disibilities, not involved with things they once were in, need to sit back become a better tutor for this child. Dont send out negativity to any school age child.Dont force these kids to do something that everybody will regret later on in the future. Remember, our future is in these childrens hands.````

uhh... no. they could freak out just as easy as the kids. i remember in one of my old schools, a teacher assulted a student. nearly killed him. now imagine if the teacher had a gun. all im saying is that itd be much more easy to have metal detectors, and searches and such, rathar have a teacher packin heat.

I agree. Teaching is becoming one of the most dangerous jobs in the US. A lot of schools have to have metal detectors now. I grew up with guns all over the house & never once considered bringing one to school!

NEGATIVE ! They can be dis-armed, body armor is a more acceptable altenative, and fits into the school's budget.
