Some of these answers seem pretty shallow.
I'm really interested in some well thought answers.

Can people please leave her appearance and Bill's affair out of it. I'm not interested in those kind of answers.

Hillary Clinton is an excellent candidate for me, and it upsets me when people criticize her for nothing, it seems to me.
There are some things that people criticise her about.

She is a woman, and although that is shallow, to discriminate against a smart person just because shes a woman, it has happened and is happening right now, I know many people who have said they are not ready to have a woman president.

Also, I have to admit her actual outspokeness about her own foriegn policy is strange, having never publicly reprimanded the Iraq war (doc below).

Also, people do not think her ideas will work, for health care, social security, and global warming, in conclusiong, people doubt her, for no really good reason.

Robert M, how can you talk about her like that, that is the problem with America, stupid sterotypes, it doesn't matter how smart somebody is just whether they have a big butt or not. Jeffrey G, Saying she is ugly and has kankles should not mean she won't be a good president.

I would vote for a woman if I felt she was qualified. Hillary is not.
She is owned by George Soros of moveon.org, how do you think she got so much money in her fund.
She is a liar, a cheat and a thief. She failed her Bar exam after law school and still practiced law. That little act could have cost her exlaw partner thousands.
When her and Bill left the White house they stole furniture and even took the toilet paper with them.
She is not the person America needs in the White house.
But neith is BushShe keeps telling us that she is going to give us health care, if that is so why has she not done one thing in the senate to promote health care?
She offers you the elevator, but all you are going to get is the shaft.

Numerous problems. But not every "voter" has the same problem with her as every other voter.

One problem I hear people mention is that Hillary did not divorce her husband when the Lewinsky "affair" was finally proven. (And some would say if she DID divorce him she never would have had a chance to run for the Senate not to mention the Presidency. Don't ask me to explain that logic.)

Another problem is her position on health care and, the alleged source of her proposals. Some people speculate she came up with NONE of it herself. Others just believe the plan is unfeasible. Again, just as many opinions of her plan as there are reasons "voters" may have a problem with her.

lifetime politician, power driven and power hungry, talks about making more federal law (taking rights away from the states) ... then there is the 'whitewater scandal', and I did well with Bill as president, but that is some pretty shady stuff, to say the least

our government is currently broken, and IMHO voting for the democrats or the republicans is a vote for the status quo, and more will stay the same, than change

She vaulted to NY senate nomiation based on her husband's popularity and a yankees cap. She picked a state with a strong democratic presence to purchase a house in, all but ensuring that seat in the senate. She counts her years as first lady as political experience. On the single most important foreign policy vote in the last 30 years, she voted the wrong way. She will say and do whatever it takes to get elected, and she is 100% beholden to special interest groups.

She's a snake consisting of a series of 5 second sound bites and little more. I don't trust her.

Clinton is a polarizing figure. that is not a good attribute when the competition is doing a consolidating campaign. plus her own controversies makes her somewhat politically vulnerable.the democrats being ordered by special interest certainly doesn't help her situation either. and the fact that she doesn't hesitate to criticize our soldiers makes me wonder whether she's the right candidate to the presidency.in the end, half love her, half hate her. if disgrunted democrats decide to join the republicans then she will loose the elections

When she was first lady she made a big push for universal health care. She came up against some HUGE opposition because people are very frightened of that idea even though it's working extremely well around the world. Now she's back and looking at an even more powerful position which scares people even more. That's one reason.

You cannot leave Bill's numerous affairs out of it. To remain married to such a lout is to have a severe character flaw. She stayed with him for what...power. They're a power team. Should we really want somebody who'se in it for the power? I think not.

I've wondered that too. I mean, I can understand that she wouldn't be the first choice of conservative Republicans. But the foaming at the mouth hatred some people aim at her is hard to understand. I've asked some probing questions of a few people who feel this way, and it seems to come down to her being a woman who doesn't know her place. Shocking in this day and age, isn't it?
