There is one thing you can do to stop that. In my province we decided to set up a utility board to regulate the price of gas. Twice a month( on the 1st and the 15th) they adjust the price based on world markets. In the past 6 years, only once the price of gas was jacked up unreasonably high. And that was during hurricane Rita and Katrina.
So, get together with some people, get a petition started up and present it to your local government.

In England, when the first Iraq vs Allies conflict started, Texaco petrol stations raised the price of fuel immediately, I have not given them a penny since.

As LONG as we keep guzzling Gas like there was NO tomorrow, then the price of Gas will GO UP- like there's no tomorrow... The MORE Dependent we make ourselves on the Oil Companies- the HIGHER we'll "jump"- when they say so. Rocket Science- this isn't.

happens every time the usa starts sabre rattling.you have oilmen in the white house with friends in the oil industry so all the u.s. administration has to do is make threats against a middle east country or instigate something in the middle east and the oil speculators bid up the price of oil and king george and chaney get big kick backs.

Boycott them all you want. Where will you buy gas?
it won't be long until the lower priced stations run out of gas, then what will you do?
