Okay, I know how to tie the noose itself. I've done it many times. What I'm trying to do now is tie a fake noose with loops that go around the waist or shoulders to support the body (so that it only looks like you're hanging by your neck). This is for Halloween. I've seen it in a couple of movies. Does anyone know how to do this?

By the way, this is not for a human to hang. It's NOT a stunt. I'm trying to hang a fake corpse from the tree in my front yard. It doesn't have enough support at the neck, so if I tied a proper noose, it would fall apart. Don't worry. I'm not stupid...

What do you mean? To actually support the body? In movies they are wearing a safety harness and the harness is supporting the body.

You'll kill yourself or dislocate your shoulder trying to support your body by a shoulder or wrist.

If its just for the costume just take the fake noose and put it around your waist.

You said this is for Halloween--what are you trying to do?

Ah. You'll have to tie a whole bunch of ropes. Try wide straps like for a car. Tie it between its legs (as thats probably the strongest part) and up over each shoulder. Then tie the 2 shoulders together with another rope. If the arms are strong, try going around the chest and hanging it by that--but I doubt that will be enough. Get the ropes tied all around it first and then dress it so you cant see the ropes.

Ya don't want to do that. Any failure would mean death. The only safe option is to use a prop corpse that wriggles and hang that up wriggling. Leave the stunts for the experts.
