Ship Location of Shipyard Fate
Constitution Boston, Massachusetts Remains in commission
United States Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Broken up 1865
President New York, New York Captured by British 1815
Congress Portsmouth, New Hampshire Broken up 1834
Constellation Baltimore, Maryland Broken up 1853
Chesapeake Gosport, Virginia Captured by British 1813

Constellation has been a controversy for years; it is pretty much accepted that the 1812 era frigate was broken up in 1853; a new ship was built with her name and is the one afloat in Baltimore today.

Constitution remains a commissioned warship of the United States Navy and flagship, Admiral, 1st Naval District.

The first ship off the line was the Constellation and it is said that some of it exists in the rebuilt Constellation which lays in Baltimore or Anapolis.

The Constitution, Old Ironsides, is still afloat and in commission and was sailed in 1976

The ships were made out of Live Oak taken from Georgia and probably South Carolina. White oak was the wood of choice in Europe.
