yes, it is sad that they develop anorexia for the purpose of modeling - but it's the industry that's done it to them - they have strived to be what the industry was looking for - and now the industry and starting to say "No, this isn't healthy" - It was NEVER healthy in the first place but they were the ones telling those girls to lose weight, lose weight, lose weight.

And now our daughters (I'm 32) have been looking at them as what to strive to look like - It makes me sick. Those poor girls were going after their dreams and now they are stricken with a disease. It is no longer a choice of willpower. They have to have EXTENSIVE treatment just like any other disease - they start looking at eating as a bad thing to do just like we think it's bad to hit our children. They actually start seeing eating as something soooo horrible.

If the industry will start using curvier models (which would be considered a size 8 compared to these girls) then it might put a big dent in eating disorders.

Lingerie looks better on women who have some curves. Some models are so thin that they look ill. It's easy to drape clothes on a broom stick rather than on a tree trunk so that you look at the clothing and not at the model's body but in the case of lingerie the body is obvious. Some girls are naturally a size zero but most are not so what they are seeing on the runway is not a true picture of real life. Modeling is really just a show and it all depends on whether the audience is into fantasy or reality.

I never thought the Olive Oyl look was very attractive anyway! I have been pencil thin in my life, but I was also depressed and had a bit of an eating disorder Divorce will do that to ya. I am about 15 lbs. heavier and feel and look like a woman instead of a 12 yr. old boy. Well, and thanks to saline, I got boobies! Frail models are sooo yesterday, aren't they? Men want women with curves...hips, boobs...flesh! How fun can going out with a chick who orders a salad, hold the croutons? Give me some meat and a baked potato with everything! Ya know, in Figi, a big woman is and has always been considered more attractive than pencil thins. I used to hate my butt because it's round, but now I embrace it! Now, if I could just learn how to do the booty dance!!!!!

I can't imagine why anybody would find a skeletal bag of bones attractive. Curves are much better. I read once that most of these designers are gay and therefore they want their clothes modelled by size zero models cos they look more like young guys. Sad indeed. Cant remember where I read it.

i definitely agree, however the reason all models are the same size is due to the sample sizes designers give out. more should be done to encourage girls that a size 0 is not normal for everyone and that curves are sexy!

No. it rather is quite rather insulting that anyone is asserting this. i'm length double 0, i'm healthful, I consume so plenty better than maximum of my obese pals. i in my opinion till now asked a question on Y!A that asked if it became into basically as undesirable to call somebody underweight as this is to call somebody obese. i'm clearly skinny, i can't help that i will consume plenty and not income something. i can't help that i'm a length 00. Is there something incorrect with that? There are not basically 0 sized fashions interior the international human beings, there are additionally plus sized fashions, curvy fashions, prego fashions. the individuals who ***** approximately how women human beings could be "curvy" and plus sized and stuff are basically jealous that they are not as skinny (in all honesty). If human beings sense so undesirable approximately themselves whilst in comparison with length 0 fashions, then they're jealous. If human beings think of length 0 fashions seem gross and anorexic, then it rather is their opinion. If human beings think of length 0 fashions are especially, then it rather is likewise their opinion. I believe the different guy or woman, you could't BLAME the actuality you're obese on the 0 length fashions. easily, usa of america is such an obese usa and individuals are heavily turning obese. in case you seem at different international places, the anyone is so narrow and wonderful looking. in case you seem at human beings from the 1800's, they are not almost as fat as anyone is in recent times. there are a number of physique types, and length 0 is one in all them. All physique types are appealing of their own way, and that i do no longer think of this is trouble-free to limit length 0 bc this is "risky looking" even whilst there are human beings available so obese to the element the place it quite is likewise risky.

I am not downgrading you at all or anything, but why should "skinny" models be replaced with "curvier' models?

If all women can be beautiful, what do you have against these "stick thin" size zeroes?

It's all based on what sells more clothing. If catalogues featuring plus sized models sold more clothes, we would see more plus sized models.

It all comes down to the almighty dollar.

I completely agree with you. Skeletal, anorexic models are not a positive example for anyone.
