I have to write a paper on what might happen if the police had not come on the night of the murder and i need some ideas. Please help!

perhaps he never would have had to face his own guilt so maybe he never would have heard the sound of the heartbeat, or if he did it would have just gotten quieter over time, or he would just learn to tune it out....
Or you could go the other way where it just gets louder and louder until he jumps out a window or something because he goes insane with guilt

He never heard the heart until the police came, so as long as he stayed in the house alone, he was safe. He would have heard the heart at some time when the mail carrier came to the door, but the sound would have gone away when the visitor left. He would have become a recluse, and he would have died in several years alone. His ventures out of the house would have been only short ones for necessities such as food, but he would have returned in a panic.

It is just possible he would have burned the house and/or scattered the body parts.

Interesting assignment. I wish I had thought of it.

He might have gone mad with guilt and taken the body out from under the floorboards and exposed himself anyway.

He might have been so guilty he committed suicide.

It would start to stink a bit! lol x

He may have went SOOO mad (he admits he's going crazy) that he'd of killed himself or killed someone else...
