Because he'll go to any length to pander for votes he'll never get.

I owe no apologies for the things those who have been dead for well over a century did,and owe no reparations.The 300,000 plus union soldiers who died in the Civil War are payment enough.

I have no rpoblem apologizing for slavery. But to give reparations to descendants of slaves is downright ridiculous.
