I noticed a lot of you have jumped back three years ago in time and are now using the excuse that being down 2-1 is nothing, because your team came back 3-0. Two questions:

#1 - How come Yankee fans can't bring up the past, when 2004 is every bit as much of the past as 2000, 1978, 86 years, etc?

#2 - And what makes you think a Cleveland Indians team THIS good is going to simply choke?

Sinatra, do the math. 1918-2004 = 86 years without a World Championship for the Boston Red Sox.

It's no fun being rude or talking trash to Indians fans. We don't hate you or your team. I will question Francona's sanity if he does not come to his senses and pitch Beckett tonight with him being ready for Sunday if necessary. Beckett is the only second half winning pitcher the Red Sox have.

There is a difference there...Yankee fans always bring up 26 rings...how many of those 26 Championships did Yankee fans actually see or remember...and the being down 3-0 and coming back is just showing that a team (which just so happens to be the Red Sox) has come back from a greater deficit...if it was Cleveland that had come back from being down 3-0 I am sure people would be using that as an example right now....that being said it is still history and just because one team comes back doesn't mean a current one will...just ask all the Yankee fans who were talking all that smack all year about 1978.

#1 - Don't you know anything, red sox fans never forget the past! We're historians!

#2 - If the Sox starting pitchers (except Beckett) can't go at least 5+ innings in the remaining games then the Indians will win the series. It sucks because on paper Boston has a better team, the Tribe seem to be a lot looser and relaxed. Boston needs to stop thinking so much and just play ball.

1. yankee fans live in the past because that's all they have. Other than having a great regular season team they haven't done much in the post season lately.

2. I don't think the Indians will choke but then again it's not like they're up 3games to 1 with 2 outs in the 9th and a 3-2 count in game 5. They only won game 3 its not even close to being over.

3.and lastly as a sox fan I won't even panic if they lose tonight cause Wakefield's pitching so if they lose I expect it but if they win it could spell doom for the Indians with beckett and schilling coming back up again. Just don't let game 7 happen cause i don't put much stock in Rice-Cake matsuzaka.

I think these Sox are pressing a little too much. They were expected to roll over Cleveland and through the World Series. I am a Cleveland Fan, and in no way saying this is over, but our chances are pretty good right now. I think that was a different Red Sox Team back then. Schilling was younger, they had Pedro, Papi and Manny were younger, Cabrera was a better SS than Julio Lugo, Mueller better than Lowell, and Millar better than Youk. Plus, they had Johnny Damon and Trot Nixon. I'd say this is a totally different thing, a lot of the "Idiots" are gone.

I say to the Red Sox fans stay current, don't go back to the past because it's not the same team. The Red Sox are not the same team they were in '04. Plus they came back to win against the Yankees, this is no rematch, you're playing the Indians this is a completely different team. Stay in the present, its 2007.
You don't hear Cleveland talking about how we swept Boston in the playoffs back in '95! Let's keep everything current.

Some of us sox fans are bringing up the past (2004) to show that it is possible to come back from being down. We were down 3-0 then and only 2-1 now so it is entirely possible to still win the series. However, yankee fans usually bring up the past to make excuses or divert attention away from the way their team is currently playing.

Seeing how my sox are playing, I do not think they will win the series. Clevland is on a roll right now, but that could easily change in one game. Whoever wins this series though has one monster of team in the Rockies waiting for them.

#1 - You can't bring up the past because you're past against us was nothing record-breaking in all of sports history. Your 5 world series in row is behind the BOSTON celtics' 10 in a row. 1978 was a one-game playoff that has happened before. And what does 2000 have to do with us. We didn't face you in the playoffs then. But 2004 we were the first team to ever come back from 3-0 defecit in a best 4-of-7 series in any sports.

#2 - They will choke because the red sox's highest losing streak this year is 3 games, so we won't lose in Cleveland and we definitely wont lose at home in 6 and 7. Another reason is because even if Cleveland beats Wake, they have to face Josh Beckett AGAIN WHO KICKED THEIR *** in Game 1 and CC Sabathia and Fausto Carmona haven't pitched 5 innings against us. Jake Westbrook had a lucky game, that's all. And Cleveland's bullpen's only good man is Betancourt, and we will get to Borowski's 1000.000 ERA eventually.

IT'S TRIBE TIME NOW!

Edit:In all seriousness now, and 2-1 is nuttin in this lead although it is nice. The Red Sox are a great team and I find it unlikely the Tribe takes 3 in a row but I have faith Carmona and CC will bounce back. To the person who said Westbrook had a lucky game, how could he have gotten lucky? He dominated the Red Sox for 5 innings and was able to gut through it when he got tired. Westbrook(ERA wise) pitched a better game than Beckett did so you aren't the once who should be talking trash.

You know you're acting a little cocky for a 2-1 lead. I wouldn't be acting like it's all wrapped up or something if I was you. I know the fans in Cleveland have more class than to be boasting over a 2-1 series lead. So stop making your fan base look bad. Mutual respect ya know? I only wish more fans had it.
