I know, I know, but if you really think about it, that's how a lot of these candidates get elected. They say they put God first and formost, and everything else second, so religious people vote for them as if it means they're voting for God. It worked for G.W.B., twice, and the first guy he beat is a Nobel Peace Prize Awardee with a very high IQ and first hand experience working in that office! Will the next guy (Rudy, Fred, etc...) be able to pull off the same thing?

you have really asked a pointed question.

forunately, Jesus will establish his kingdom by force when he returns so no need to ponder the election issue for president. (weren't going to catch me on the election issue of salvation)

you are absolutely right, these guys do use God as their running authority.

I will post this publicly and wonder if anyone will respond,

what is the president doing with opening our borders, NAFTA and GATT (sp?)

Jesus says obey the laws of your land, and these guys are not doing so

Good question, worthy of a star, (can't give 2)

If it was actually Jesus, yes. He had Judas for a "running mate" and managed to save us all from eternal damnation, so I would think that Dick figured into His plan, somehow. I do think, however, that Jesus would be a democrat, just because of the recent republican record (say THAT three times fast!) on social policy, if nothing else. On the other hand, maybe Jesus would be an independant and not have to worry about party lines at all. I do have to wonder: Who would really have the stones to run against Jesus? You can't attack His character. His record is impeccable: He loved us all, even those of us who weren't born yet, enough to die for us. I think Jesus would probably run unapposed.

Most white people in the United States would not vote for Christ because he was a black man.

As far a him pick Dick Cheney as running mate, that is even more ridiculous. Because God has nothing to do with Satan, and George Bush and Dick Cheney are like devils than anything else.

It would be a landslide for Jesus and the dickster, Vice President Cheney. It's strange how so many people would like to see the United States run with biblical law, only using the King James version of the bible, not the old testament, we can't have mass stonings in the streets for adultery. Does it not dawn on people what they are seeing in the middle-east is religion run rampant in their society and culture and twisting many a mind towards violence. Is that what we really want in this country? Devout "christians" passing our laws?

Keep in mind that the Democrats are doing the same thing. Throughout the history of elections people have courted the religious vote. This is nothing new. My guess is that neither party will really get the religious vote.

The headline in the Right winged London Express after Bush was elected for the 2nd Term read, "Can 355 million people be crazy?"

So, if Jesus ran with bozo as his running mate, I would quit the church altogether and ask my wife to wear the hijab and I would start growing my beard and pray many times a day. We would need to pray for sure so that GOD may help us from Bozo!
The time for Republicans is finished for next 50 years because of the damage done to our reputation with lies, misrepresentations, bullying the media, bulling Saddam, bullying the UK, bulling the rest of the world. People used to measure their progress againstt our and their currency agains our dollar and we were proud of it , but now the mention of USA starts an argument and hatred. Just listen to Fox TV , O'rielly and Courtrell and you know how low we have stooped.

God Help (us) America.

If only people realized how mixing religion and politics is ultimately going to have a bad outcome, they would support the First Amendment and stop this nonsense.

Our country is polarized enough with what the Neo-cons have done with the brain-dead White House Puppet - we really don't need a Civil Holy War, but that's where we're headed.

The religious right didn't get the Christian Theocracy that they envisioned, so they have pulled most of their support from the Republican party.

But think about it: they elected a cokehead who's previous business experience involved everything he touched turning to absolute dookie and the evil overlord of darkness as his veep because they said God the required number of times.

I am a Christian, and I am a capitalist American. That means I forgive people for their wrongdoings and try to mind my own business. I do not vote for candidates based on my religion, because what works for me and my religion is not always right for what is best for the rest of the country.

If people want to have abortions or marry people of the same sex, it's fine by me because they are living their lives according to the free will that (I believe) God gave us.

I want a candidate that will promote personal rights and responsibilities. That's why I'm going ot vote for a thrid party candidate.

Honestly, Mr. Confirmed Atheist, I am an agnostic, but if the man JC were to come down from heaven to campaign with Dick Cheney, I'd have to support that ticket even though I hate the Dick.
